Seed Deep Abbey
The Seed Deep Way
A path of healing, formation, and becoming.
There are seasons when life breaks us open to questions we can no longer ignore.
Seasons when what once held us no longer fits.
When faith feels thin.
When identity unravels.
When the old ways of coping no longer work.
The Seed Deep Way is a formational path for women walking through those seasons.
It is a way of learning how to live attentively and authentically in the tension of becoming new while rooting into the love of God and the embrace of safe community.
The Seed Deep Way is the Guiding Rhythm of Seed Deep Abbey.
It is shaped by the wisdom of Christian spiritual formation, contemplative practice, and the lived reality that healing does not happen all at once, but gradually over time, in relationship, and with the Holy Spirit.
Rather than asking, “How do I fix myself?”
the Abbey Way asks:
What is being formed in me now?
What is being healed?
What needs to be released?
What is being born?
This path honors the truth that becoming a new creation is not a project, but...
A Process
A Formational Way
Much of modern spirituality is built around effort, performance, formulas and solutions.
You know…10 Ways to Become Like Jesus.
The Seed Deep Way offers a different posture.
Here:
healing is not rushed
questions are not feared
grief is not minimized
identity is not prescribed
transformation is not forced
Instead, we trust that God is already at work beneath the surface and that our task is to learn how to abide and pay attention to what is really real in our lives. This is the meaning of contemplation.
This way is slow by design.
Gentle by intention.
Grounded in grace rather than expectation.
Three Movements of The Seed Deep Way
While every woman’s journey is unique, the Seed Deep Way tends to unfold in three interwoven movements. These are not stages to complete, but rhythms you may return to again and again.
Healing
Formation
Pilgrimage
Healing: Tending Our Wounds
This movement attends to the places where early experiences — particularly with fathers, authority, and emotional attachment — shaped how we came to understand ourselves and our story, others, the world and God.
Here, women begin to:
narrate and make meaning of their stories
recognize patterns formed by childhood wounding
heal distorted images of God and themselves
experience safety and care in God’s witnessing presence
restore a sense of belovedness, connection and peace
This work is held gently, with attention to emotional and spiritual safety.
Primary offering:
Healing the Father-Wound
Formation: Learning How to Live From Belovedness
As healing unfolds, a deeper question often emerges:
How do I now live?
Formation is about learning how to inhabit your life differently with greater freedom, agency, and attentiveness to God.
This movement includes:
spiritual direction and accompaniment
discernment
prayer rooted in presence rather than effort
integrating faith with real life
developing a steady inner life
In this movement, identity is not achieved, it is received and practiced.
Primary offerings:
Spiritual Direction • Group Circles • Abbey Community
Pilgrimage: Stepping Into the Unknown With God
Life with God is always about new transformative journeys.
Pilgrimage creates space, both geographically and spiritually, to step away from familiar patterns and listen more deeply.
This movement invites:
retreat and withdrawal
sacred travel
embodied prayer
communal ritual
integration of story and faith
Pilgrimage is not escape.
It is reorientation.
Primary offerings:
Seed Deep Transformative Retreats
The Seed Deep Way is not linear.
You may begin with healing, then return to it later.
You may find formation deepening long after a retreat.
You may move between solitude and community.
What matters is not where you start, but that you are accompanied.
The Abbey Way is designed to hold the whole of your journey, without forcing it into a formula
or a set of rules.
Transformation Happens in Community
Formation can not happen in isolation. We need each other.
The Seed Deep Abbey Community provides the relational container that supports this path - a place where stories are welcomed, questions are honored, and growth is witnessed over time.
Community here is not about constant interaction.
It is about shared presence.
A life held among others tends to soften, deepen, and heal.
You do not need to know the whole path before you take the first step.
You only need to notice where your life feels tender, unfinished, or longing for something more.
Whether you are:
carrying wounds that need care
seeking a deeper, steadier life with God, yourself
and othersstanding in a season of transition
longing for companionship
There is a place for you here.
